I was inspired to take this self portrait by the concept of "growing/developing" in terms of relating plants to humans (mostly in adolescents and children), and how both need essential things to survive and be healthy and 'happy'.

I used natural light and triggered the shutter via wireless remote. I then used Photoshop to create a faux cross-processed look.

Canon Rebel XTi with 18-55mm lens; ISO 100; 1/50sec at f/3.5.

I have a little obsession with Converse shoes. I own several pairs and love to photograph them. I took this shot last summer out of boredom. I wanted to see what I could do with some of my Converse and this is what happened!

My intention was to use the opticians' equipment to portray the darkly lit room I had grown to know. The equipment resembled a monster's face. Photography is a language of art and expression, some people use the spoken language to portray themselves, I simply use imagery.
